Improving the radiotherapy experience: NHS Foundation Trust

Thursday 16 May 2019

We’re delighted to help our clients enhance their radiotherapy facilities, so that they can improve the experience for patients and staff.

We are also delighted when we receive great feedback. This allows us to know what we need to do to improve our products and services.

Recent projects we’ve been working on include the radiotherapy services at the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is both in Cheltenham and at the Hereford Satellite Centre.

Bridget Moore from Gloucester Oncology Department said the following about our LED sky ceilings:

“The sky ceilings have transformed our patient experience in radiotherapy. They bring natural images and light into what was a windowless, clinical environment.

The ceilings act as a distraction for patients. The images enable them to focus on the natural beauty of the trees rather than their radiotherapy treatment.”

“We have used the tree theme to rename the machines, making them appear less clinical to the patients. The feedback we have received has been entirely positive.

Our radiographers have also found that these ‘windows to the sky’ enhance their working environment.”
