About The Project

The Royal Surrey Gynaecology Outpatients Hospital is a clinically led NHS trust that bridge the gap between hospital and community care. They made an initial enquiry with Sky Inside to install a feature ceiling with a bespoke design in an examination room, taking into consideration the input of the department staff.

After a site survey, and discussions with the team on site, Sky Inside were able to provide a fixed price quotation for the supply and installation of the single led skylight panel 1200 by 1200 dimmable feature ceiling.

Challenges And Objectives

The suspended ceiling posed a particular challenge as the installation had to be fitted directly above the procedure chair, which was a space that featured several smoke alarms and lighting that could not be relocated.

This challenge was particularly hard to navigate as it meant that the operatives had to lift and fit carefully, without causing any damage to the chair below, while delivering a few minor ceiling alterations.

Results

Sky Inside completed the installation in 4 hours without affecting the daily influx of patients, with instruction and hand over completed during the afternoon.
