Chapel Allerton Orthodontics Living Skies™
About The Project
The Orthodontics department at the nationally acclaimed Chapel Allerton Hospital, chose to install the Living Skies™ system in their dental clinic to help patients relax during procedures. The Living Skies™ ceiling installation offers a variety of natural scenes that help create a tranquil environment to significantly reduce patient anxiety. This system also includes a user-friendly remote input so that the display can be tailored to the practice, featuring dental videos on brushing and flossing, for example.
Working with the trust’s main contractor, Bermar Building Contractors, and obtaining designs from Deborah Carr of Bridger Carr Architects, Sky Inside delivered a unique NHS dental solution that is raising the bar for patient experience.
Challenges And Objectives
The installation proved to be a challenge because the unit had to be fitted into a service loaded void space, while meeting the requirements of void space temperatures. Therefore, a suitable location needed to be found. After a thorough assessment was conducted, a suitable location was found directly above the procedure chair.
The timeline was also a major factor that needed to be considered. The delivery and installation had to be programmed prior to the procedure chair being positioned along with all the required HDMI cables, coms and system power.
Results
The project was completed across five surgeries on time and within budget, meeting all of the specifications and criteria discussed beforehand, without disruption to the dental practice.
Stakeholders
The installation was achieved with thanks to the team at Chapel Allerton Hospital, Bermar Building Contractors and Deborah Carr of Bridger Carr Architects.
