St James Hospital Same Day Emergency Care Unit

About The Project

The Chancellors Wing at St James hospital recently underwent a refurbishment project for its Same Day Emergency Care unit. One of the key elements of the refurbishment was the installation of specialist single tile recessed digital ceiling units, measuring 1200 by 1200, supplied by Sky Inside UK™.

Challenges And Objectives

The objective was to create a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere within a hectic and challenging environment. Hospitals are often the epicentre of troubling situations with very little to help occupy minds and create calming spaces. The largest challenges faced during the project was the fast-track nature of the refurbishment. Time was of the essence, and the project required swift execution to meet the specified deadlines. Additionally, limited storage and parking posed significant obstacles to the project team. These challenges necessitated the implementation of effective project management strategies to ensure timely execution. Sky Inside UK™ supplied these digital ceiling units completely assembled, wired, and ready for installation. This streamlined the installation process and reduced the overall project timeline.

Results

The installation of the specialist digital led skylights was carried out efficiently. A total of 9 units were seamlessly integrated into the St James Hospital Same Day Emergency Care Unit. The ready-to-install nature of the units significantly reduced the installation time, allowing the project to move forward without unnecessary delays. St James Hospital Same Day Emergency Care Unit now boasts a modern and sleek design with the integration of the specialist digital sky ceilings, with HD imagery now perfectly positioned to create a more pleasant atmosphere.
